Muscat

Muscat is the capital of Oman and the largest city in the country, with a population of 646,024 (2005).

As an important port city on the Gulf of Oman, Muscat has experienced rapid infrastructure development, leading to the growth of a vibrant economy and multi-ethnic society. Muscat is called a Beta Global City by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network.
